e-chan first met Tsunami when she was a Buizel at the Valley Windworks in Sinnoh. Both e-chan and Scooter were visiting the Valley Windworks to get a tour of the inside. When they approached the building, two Buizels, a brother and sister, ambushed the duo by shooting them with a combined powerful Water Gun attack. The two then tried to get into their backpacks to search for food but e-chan and Scooter recovered from the surprise attack a lot faster than the two Buizel had anticipated. A battle ensued and e-chan and Scooter ended up catching the two Buizel; Scooter caught the brother and e-chan caught the sister. Tsunami is usually very level-headed but will act without thinking whenever she gets excited or angry. Tsunami evolved into a Floatzel during battle against Crasher Wake's Quagsire.
Tsunami's ability is Swift Swim and her current moveset is:
