e-chan first met Hefty when he was just a Trubbish in the Castelia Sewers in Unova. While eating Casteliacones with Zapple and Kyle on Mode Street while in Castelia City, e-chan heard that Team Plasma was still running around making trouble. Suddenly he heard somebody cry out that they had just had their Pokemon stolen; when e-chan looked up he saw a Team Plasma grunt run past him while clutching a Poke Ball. e-chan, Zapple and Kyle chased after the grunt and soon found themselves in the Castelia Sewers. There the Plasma grunt teamed up with his backup and tried to take Zapple and Kyle from e-chan. That's when a wild Trubbish jumped into the battle and helped Zapple and Kyle defeat the Plasma grunts. e-chan retrieves the Poke Ball that they had stolen before sending them packing. After returning the Poke Ball to it's original owner, e-chan went back to the sewers to find the Trubbish that helped him. He offered the Trubbish the chance to come with him and the Trubbish agreed, allowing e-chan to catch it with a Poke Ball. Hefty is a very kind Pokemon but is a little shy and self-conscious about his natural odor. Hefty evolved into a Garbodor during one of e-chan's battles in the Driftveil Pokemon World Tournament.
Hefty's ability is Stench and his current moveset is:
-Body Slam
-Toxic Spikes
-Venoshock
-Gunk Shot
