e-chan first met Moe when he was a Minccino in Asperita City in Unova. It had been about four months since e-chan returned home after making the Top 4 in the Unova League; in that time he learned that some new gyms appeared in Unova and that Driftveil City was hosting several different World Tournaments. So, he decided to travel back to Unova to challenge the new gyms and re-challenge some of the gyms he had been to, participate in the various Pokemon World Tournaments and once again compete in the Unova League. Taking only Zapple and Kyle with him, e-chan arrives by boat in Asperita City in Unova to start his new journey. While at the city's famous lookout, e-chan is confronted by a charismatic Minccino who immediately begins flirting with Zapple. Her response to the Minccino's unwanted advances was several point-blank Thunderbolt attacks. Impressed with the Minccino's stamina and endurance for taking 10 Thunderbolts back-to-back before fainting, he decided to catch it in one of his Great Balls despite Zapple's protests. Moe is a flirt who thinks he's a ladies man; although he mostly tries to win Zapple's heart he will flirt with other female Pokemon he meets. Moe evolved into a Cinccino when he speedily snatches a Shiny Stone out of Zapple's hands, mistaking it for a Thunder Stone.
