e-chan first met Mag-2 when it was just a Magnemite in the Virbank Complex in Unova. While visiting Virbank City, e-chan met a young trainer who dreamed of one day meeting and catching the Pokemon known as Cobalion but didn't know how he would keep it from possibly running away when he found it. e-chan suggested that he use a Pokemon that knew either Mean Look or Block or had an ability like Arena Trap. The young trainer then remembered that Cobalion was part Steel so an ability like Magnet Pull would work as well. So the two of them went to the Virbank Complex in search of a Magnemite with the Magnet Pull ability. They find two Magnemites stuck together and battle them. When the time comes to catch them the young trainer realizes that he was out of Poke Balls; e-chan quickly gave him two of his and the young trainer managed to catch both of the Magnemites before they escaped. Only one of the captured Magnemite had the Magnet Pull ability; to thank e-chan for his help, the young trainer gave him the Magnemite with the Sturdy ability. Mag-2 is a very intelligent Pokemon who speaks with a robotic voice. Mag-2 evolved into a Magneton after defeating Elesa's Emolga and evolved again into a Magnezone while travelling through the Chargestone Cave.
Mag-2's ability is Sturdy and it's current moveset is:

-Zap Cannon
